Privacy policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

Valani LLC, trading as Valani Atelier ("Valani", "we", "us" or "our"), respects the privacy of the clients and visitors we serve. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and disclose personal information when you visit www.valani.com (the "Site"), make a purchase, book a private viewing, commission a bespoke piece, or otherwise communicate with us (together, the "Services"). "You" means any client, visitor or other individual whose information we hold.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on the Site, update the "Last updated" date and take any other steps required by law.

Information We Collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes or can reasonably be associated with you. What we collect depends on how you interact with us.

Information you give us

  • Contact details: your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • Order information: billing and shipping addresses, payment confirmation, and the details of your purchase.
  • Account information: username, password and other information used to keep your account secure.
  • Viewing and appointment details: the date, time and location of a private viewing, and the pieces or gemstones you would like to see.
  • Bespoke commission details: design preferences, sketches, reference images, ring sizes and other measurements, stone preferences and budget you share with us for a custom piece.
  • Shopping information: items you view, add to your cart or wish list, gift cards, and purchases.
  • Correspondence: anything you choose to include when you contact us by email, telephone, message or in person.

Some Services require certain information. You may choose not to provide it, but we may then be unable to complete an order, appointment or commission.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Site we may automatically collect information about your device, browser, network connection, IP address and how you interact with the Site ("Usage Data"), using cookies, pixels and similar technologies ("Cookies").

Information from third parties

  • Service providers that operate our Site and store, including Shopify.
  • Payment processors, who collect payment details (such as card or bank information and billing address) to process your payment. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Advertising and analytics partners, who may collect information when you visit the Site, open our emails or interact with our advertisements.

Information we obtain from third parties is treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide our Services: to process payments, fulfil and ship orders (including insured shipping), arrange private viewings, design and produce bespoke pieces, handle exchanges and store credit, manage your account and send you transaction-related messages. We may also allow Shopify to match your account with other Shopify services you choose to use, in which case Shopify processes your information under its own privacy policies.
  • Marketing: to send you news of new collections, events and offers by email, text message or post, and to show you relevant advertising on our Site and elsewhere. For residents of the EEA and UK, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in promoting our jewelry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or your consent where required.
  • Security and fraud prevention: to detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent, illegal or malicious activity. Fine jewelry is a high-value purchase, so we may verify identity, billing and shipping details before releasing an order. Please keep your account credentials private and contact us at once if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • Client care and improvement: to respond to your enquiries, provide after-sales care, and improve our Site and Services.
  • Legal compliance: to meet our legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect our rights and those of our clients and others.

Cookies

We use Cookies to run and improve the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site. For details of the Cookies used to power our Shopify store, see shopify.com/legal/cookies. We may also allow third-party partners to use Cookies on our Site to tailor advertising.

You can set your browser to block or delete Cookies. Some parts of the Site may not work correctly if you do, and blocking Cookies may not stop all sharing of information with advertising partners.

Our Site recognises the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and targeted advertising for that browser or device, and, where we can link it to your account, for your account too. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org. We do not respond to other "Do Not Track" signals.
